What to Wear
Co-ordinated outfits are great, they don’t need to be matchy-matchy in fact I think it’s best when they aren’t!
Keep patterns simple, avoid large logo/prints and steer away from neons. Neutral colours always look fantastic. Think classic/timeless but still “you”.
Below you will find some information more specific to the type of Portrait Session you are booking and if you are still stuck take a look through our galleries and Instagram page to see what previous clients have opted for and remember Pinterest and Google are a great source of inspiration!

Session Type
Maternity
Three to four outfit changes is perfect to add plenty of variety to your finished gallery. You can use our wardrobe, supply your own or have a combination of both. If you have something special you would like to include you are welcome bring it along and we will incorporate it in a shot.
Using our gowns and drapes? A selection of maternity gowns is available for our clients to use, a perfect fit for a large range of sizes. (We are working on a gown catalogue!) It is helpful to bring your own nude/skintone underwear and strapless bra is a bonus if you have one.
Remaining in your own clothes? please keep patterns simple, avoid large logo/prints and steer away from neons. Think classic/timeless but “you”. Jeans and a simple fitted t-shirt are a great casual go to.
Nude/Implied Nude? bringing a dressing gown might help you feel more comfortable, a side note; we don’t actually have to shoot nude if you are not comfortable with that, a nude/beige strapless bra and thong is perfect.
Hair & Makeup? professional hair & makeup is complimentary with our Maternity Portraits! Read about that HERE.
Newborn
Bringing a change of outfit for Mums and Dads is always a good idea just incase of an accident. I will encourage you to have a photo with your baby so please keep patterns simple, avoid large logo/prints and steer away from neons. Think classic/timeless but “you”, even a plain black or white top or singlet is perfect.
The studio will be nice & warm, up to 28 degrees, please keep that in mind so you can dress for your own comfort.
What about the baby? there is no need to bring outfits for the baby unless you have something particularly special you would like them photographed in. My simple style of newborn portraits means your baby will be mostly in their nappy, but we use wraps and particular foot/leg placement to keep them covered for modesty, it is a good idea to dress them in something simple that is easily removed (i.e. not over the head) incase they are sleeping and ready to go when you arrive.
Family
Again co-ordinated outfits are great, they certainly don’t need to be matchy-matchy, in fact, I think it’s best when they aren’t!
Keep patterns fairly simple, avoid large logos and graphics while steering away from neons. Neutral colours or complimentary tones always look fantastic. Think classic/timeless but still “your family”.
Professional hair and makeup is available in studio as an add on but only by prior arrangement so please let me know at the time of booking if you would like to use that service.
