When to Book
It is never too early!
In fact it is best to secure your booking as soon as you have decided to go ahead as places can become limited quickly, particularly if you need to secure a specific weekend day.

Session Type
Newborns Portraits
Get in contact well in advance of your due date and we will book you in as soon as you decide to go ahead.
Don’t worry this doesn’t set a fixed a date. Newborn portraits are ideally done between 5 and 14 days old (you can read up on why that is here) but that is hard to set in the diary when we don’t know what day they might decide to make their grand entrance! To get around that I pencil in your due date and we simply adjust your booking as you reach or even pass it, then you just let me know when baby has arrived (text is fine and usually easier with a new baby) and we set the actual session date. If you are having an elective c-section or receive an induction date it is obviously more straightforward, just let me know when you get the date and we will set a time based on a “usual” hospital stay.
Only shooting one newborn a day means we are limited in the number we can book in a month so getting in early ensures you have your spot saved.
Maternity Portraits
The longer lead time we can work with the easier it is to snag your requested date making sure our wonderful Hair & Makeup Artist is available.
Keep in mind maternity portraits are best taken between 28 & 36 weeks, however, having said that it is really up to you and how comfortable (or uncomfortable) you are feeling and if you are carrying very small and would like to wait a little longer or maybe carrying large and would like to get in a little earlier.
If you are almost ready to give birth and are considering maternity portraits at the last minute please do still get in touch and we’ll make every effort to get you in.
Family Portraits
Again the sooner you can book in the better, weekend availability is always very limited so a longer lead time makes it a bit easier to secure your a date that works around school, families visiting from out of town, FIFO schedules etc.
