Just like the title says this is a list of frequently asked questions.

If you don’t find your answers in here please contact me and I will happily help you out.

General

Our comfortable home studio is located Willetton (just 20mins south of Perth city), we are very easy to get to; just minutes from the Kwinana Freeway, Leech & Roe Highways.

Newborn portraits are all taken in our studio because I have everything on hand and can easily control the perfect light and temperature for baby. You can put your feet up and relax without feeling guilty about the million things you “should” be doing while your baby is occupied.
Limited outdoor locations are now available for family/maternity portraits subject to weather and availability

If you are self printing PLEASE find a great quality printing lab! The 10c chain store labs are a good low cost option for your snap shots but honestly the quality is not the same and it is a shame to spend the money on your lovely photos and not print them with the same amount of love.
Of course we can help you with beautiful professional quality prints and wall art.

I can accept cash, direct deposit, credit card and BPAY. All digital packages require payment prior to your shoot and printed products prior to their production.

You sure can! You can choose to pay off your digital package in instalments over a prearranged time period. Production of any printed products will take place after to your final payment.

It would be a huge shame to have your beautiful images damaged in the mail so studio pick up is preferred, if that is not practical we can make other arrangements.

Please checkout the pricing page!

The most simple answer is no, print quality digital images and printed products will not have watermarks, you will also have a folder of identical images that are optimised for online sharing, those images will have a small watermark.

Please see our products page or request a copy of our Price Guide, if you have something else in mind please ask!

Yes absolutely, they are available in any denomination and make thoughtful baby shower gifts!

Newborn Portraits

Congratulations, it is such an exciting time! The best time to photograph newborns is in their first 5 to 10 days when they are still all sleepy, squishy and curly. However, we know things don’t always go to plan so no matter how old your baby is please still get in touch, we will never turn you away just because your baby is a little older!

It is best to make a booking as early as possible to avoid missing out… it is never to early to book your newborn photographer!

I pencil in your due date and adjust your booking as you reach or even pass that date, then you simply let me know when baby has arrived and we set the actual date.

The majority of my newborn portraits are created while baby is wrapped up in my fabrics or nudie with thoughtfully placed foot. If you have a special little outfit you would like to use in a few shots please feel free to bring it along, keep in mind that generally clothes really don’t fit newborns perfectly and tend to bunch up looking awkward in their photos.

The studio is going to be very snuggly for your newborn so it is going to feel pretty warm for everyone else, it’s a good idea to dress keeping this in mind. If you would like some photos with your new baby (which I do encourage!) it’s good to stick to block colours or simple patterns so the main attraction in the picture is the people and not your outfits. A change of clothes for parents is a great idea… just incase!

We have a medium sized collection of bowls because I but tend to go with a bit more of a natural look, if you have something particular in mind please check that we have what you are looking for, we are happy to include any special toys, blankets or hats that you would like to use.

Absolutely, providing they are happy to get involved and are not going to be a danger to your baby, but we  also have a few tricks up our sleeve that help when sibling portraits aren’t going to plan.

A newborn session on average takes 2.5 hours but I always say allow 2 to 4 hours. I allow lots of extra time for feeding and settling, cleaning of their little accidents (they do happen!) and lots of cuddles.

It is really important to me that your family and mine are kept as healthy as possible, if someone is unwell we will reschedule until everyone is better. If you need to spend a little longer in hospital we will set a date as soon as you are ready to come home.

Yes; looking out for both your family and mine!

Newborn portraits are all taken in our studio because I have everything on hand and can easily control the perfect light and temperature for baby. You can put your feet up and relax without feeling guilty about the million things you “should” be doing while your baby is occupied.

All of my newborn sessions start at 10am, babies are almost always more settled in the morning but any earlier would be mean to the new parents! Weekends fill up fast!

Generally two weeks after your shoot your beautiful fully edited gallery will be ready for download.

We respect everyones choice not to share their images online, we will confirm this with you upon booking.

Maternity Portraits

34 to 36 weeks is generally a good time to have your maternity portraits taken, however, we can adjust that to allow for tiny bellies to grow some more or make the date a little sooner if you are getting to uncomfortable, we will work out what suits you best

Yes! We have a selection of gowns, drapes and dresses for you to choose from or you can choose to remain in your own clothes.

Remaining in your own clothes: please keep patterns simple, avoid large logo/prints and steer away from neons. Think classic/timeless but “you”

Using our gowns and drapes: a nude/beige strapless bra is a bonus if you have one

Sheer draping – a set of nude/beige underwear if you are after the light airy look and/or a set black if you are looking for dark and dramatic.

Implied Nude – we don’t actually need to shoot nude, a nude/beige strapless bra and thong is perfect, nude/beige bra with straps and regular briefs is also an option.

If you have something special you would like to include please bring it along and we will incorporate it in a shot.

Professional hair & make up is available as an upgrade, if you would prefer to do your own or go without thats perfectly fine too

Absolutely, we encourage you to!

My general principle when editing your images is “If it is permanent it stays, if it is temporary it goes”… unless you have a specific request! Stretch marks fall into a grey area so I say it’s important to me that YOU love your images, if you have a specific request please let me know… I won’t judge!

Usually 1.5 hours is plenty for a maternity shoot, if you are upgrading to hair & makeup allow 3, 1.5 for hair and makeup & 1.5 for the actual shoot.
